Memories
Laura-Granddaughter
My nana was the best.  She watched me when I was little for about a year so my mom could go to work and she never took a dime for watching me.   She took such good care of me as if I were her own daughter.  She was such a generous woman.  I remember going over there on the weekends when my grandfather was alive and going on many rides in the country, going to parks, the old orange plaza mall (Sullivans toy store) and them letting me buy whatever I wanted.  They took me out to eat and let me stay over night many times.  I remember nana would give me backrubs and say (shave and haircut too bits)  and pat on my back to the tune.  I also remember when I spent the night she would make me my favorite breakfast which was poached eggs with parmesan cheese and butter on it .  I loved that.  Nana was my second mother,  she was always there for me when I needed her, in fact most of the time I would go to her for advice before I would anyone else.  She was kind and gentle, and never had a bad thing to say about anyone, a real Christian.  There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of her and wish she was here.  My daughter Sarah who is now 3 was just the apple of my Nana's eye.  She just adored her.  My daughter is fortunate to have known her for as long as she did.  I loved her with all my heart and soul.

My mother was always there for me. She was my rock and her family was her world. Never a day goes by I do not think of her. I  will remember her smile and warm embrace. The way she would take the time to listen to my problems and followed up with sound adivce. She had a way of being comforting that no matter how bad you felt it was always better after seeing and talking with her.

She was happy with her little house on Wickham Ave. She lived simply. She was the happiest when being with her family.

I will forever miss her but I have many pictures that tell the story of her life. I am a better person because she was my mother.

Alice Rose

Alice-sister

I was so proud she was my sister & proudly tell my friends saying she was my sister. She so beautiful like Snow White with her dark hair & white skin & always dressed so fancy. She was so neat always & clean.

When at times I went shopping with her, I saw it was hard for her to decide-should so buy a red dress-no maybe the blue one. We would go home & most always the item went back to the store to get the other color.

One day at Essex Junction she was with one of her admirers on the sofa & guess who was under that very sofa-yup-me & Catherine-the bugs-giggling. They heard us & chased us out of there. One day I made a pie bed with the sheets on her bed-you double the sheet so when you get in bed your feet can't get down. She never said one word about it, so I didn't do it again as was no fun.

She had so many boyfriends. I can still see her studying at the big roll top desk with the cat "Hitler" keeping guard on the top of the desk One day when she was smooching with a boyfriend on the other side of the curtain, I announced loudly-"Marion is kissing-now she & he are hugging-now his arms are around her", etc.

Two weeks later or so that boyfriend came back. He gave me a whole box of clark bars & dentyne gum & mints. He brought Marion perfume-wise guy-I never bothered them again.  I never saw her mad-she was very patient with her little sisters. She taught me how to tell time & tie my shoes. She played the piano so good. That was Marion-my big sister.

My nana was soo wonderful.  She always brought a smile to my face.  She loved her family very much and treasured all the time she spent with them.  Her greatest joy was getting together with us on any occasion.  She loved to suprise us with sweets on the table.  Everytime we would go over, she always had cakes, cookies, and tea.  But most of all, she was such a great listener.  She loved to hear every story and would live for the moments to be near us.  Every birthday or christmas, I would love to get her angel figurines or beautiful music boxes.  It would just light up her life and bring such happiness to my heart!  I don't need to write stories to remember her because I will never forget her, but its nice to share the wonderful life of such a remarkable woman.
